Probate & Estate Investigations
The purpose of an investigator in an estate matter or probate settlement.
Often times, legal issues arise. For example, an heir or heirs named in a will might be unknown to the executor or the estate attorney. We specialize in locating missing heirs. Other times, the heirs or attorney may suspect elder fraud by a caregiver or another adult who has taken advantage of an elderly client. We provide a full forensic analysis of all documents and actions taken in these type of cases and flow this information back to the attorney for their review.
Is my information confidential?
Yes, to the extent that circumstances allow. For example, we can conduct a background investigation on a caregiver or establish the relationship of an unknown heir to the decedent without alerting the targets. At a certain point, however, we may need to interview individuals, but by that time, usually, the attorney and client are in a good position to protect clients best interest. We hold our clients information to the same standard as a attorney and will only share that information with the client and client consent to share with the attorney representing them in their case.
Who get’s the report?
Normally we provide our client and their attorney with a written report, ready for filing with the court. Our reports can assist an attorney in determining fraud or setting up depositions or settlement discussions.
We are always available to testify.
Yes, when necessary. Over the years, a number of our estate or probate cases have gone to trial. Our investigators are experienced in courtroom decorum.
How much do you charge?
It depends. Most of our cases are billed at a flat rate expense under contract. We work closely with the attorneys client in being mindful of the clients funds. For new clients, we require a retainer arrangement under contract.
How do we contact you?
